Doug Fuller is the manager of Budget Building Supplies, which opened recently at 1722 Tremont St. in Lincoln, Illinois.

"We sell post frame building packages," he noted, "and all types of metal for all types of applications such as residential roofs and metal buildings.

"We carry all of the major manufacturers such as Fabral, Central States and ABC."

Budget sells to both contractors and the general public, those interested in using their own metal building kits.

"We also carry all types of metal accessories such as screws and trims," Fuller said. "We have a lot of stock in-house."We also have the capability to sheer. We stock 8-foot through 20-foot metal in sheets, but we can sheer it to any size."

The company is owned by Bill Dagg of Blueford, near Mount Vernon. Fuller said Dagg has thought for a long time that central Illinois would be a good place for such a general steel building supply business.

He cited the close proximity to other cities and the numerous contractors in the area. And, Fuller said, "it's a good area for farming."

Fuller has been involved in the steel building industry for 24 years. He participated in two plant start-ups and worked in manufacturing for steel roofing and siding.
