Manufacturer of Metal Self-Storage Buildings Now Employee Owned
A manufacturer of pre-engineered steel buildings for the self-storage industry in Wisconsin for over 100 years is now officially employee owned.
Thanks to the formation of an Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP). The purchase includes the steel building company (Trachte Building Systems Inc.)’s two subsidiary businesses, as well.
Completed on August 29, this new transaction bodes very well for the prefabricated metal building manufacturer, as well as its 220 employees and the community.
“The employee purchase of the company ensures that this will remain a key employer in Sun Prairie,” said V.P. of human resources Pam Klute.
“The overriding benefit of an employee stock-ownership programs is they allows employees to participate in the company’s growth and success.”
The officers and employees of the prefabricated metal building provider are excited about what the future holds, said the company president.
Believing that the purchase allows it to manage and control its destiny, the company plans to continue in its commitment to serve the self storage buildings industry with top-quality products and services.
In addition to its metal storage building production, it plans to expand into other categories where it believes it can best leverage its several core manufacturing competencies.
With more than 105 years in the Madison, Wis., area, the manufacturer's headquarters currently consists of two steel buildings with 163,000 square feet, which include all its manufacturing and administrative functions.
